Mukteshwar Height Shiva temple

Mukteshwar receives its name from a 350-year-antique temple of Shiva, referred to as Mukteshwar Dham, located atop the best point within the metropolis, on the veterinary institute’s campus. History of Mukteshwar Height

Mukteshwar was previously referred to as Muktesar (as referred to in Jim Corbett’s e-book “The Temple Tiger”); the call changed after 1947. Many locals nonetheless name it Mukteshwar in their native language.
